Nanyehi, The Peacemaker, is book two in the Transporter series.

Book one featured Samuel Handly, a Revolutionary War soldier and Indian spy. The settlers were moving onto Cherokee land. Handly was appointed by Andrew Jackson to spy on the Indians. Three twenty-first century teenage boys, Patrick, Chuck, and Teddy, go back in time through the Transporter. They follow Handly from his birth in Pennsylvania, through his service, and to his death in Franklin County, Tennessee.

This second book, Patrick, his sister, and Chuck's sister travel back in time. They learn the Indian side of the story in the making of America. Nanyehi wanted peace with the settlers. Dragging Canoe wanted to stop the settlers at all cost. He split off from his Cherokee family. He and his followers became known as the Chickamauga. He never gave up trying to save their land from the new Americans.

The Transporter series has been written to encourage young adults, and other, to take an interest in the history which might be found within their own communities. Perhaps your own ancestor may have a story to tell.
